HawkShift Shop is committed to being transparent about how we handle your information. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we protect it.
Information We Collect
HawkShift Shop collects minimal information. Specifically:
- Email address — only if you voluntarily sign up for price alerts. We use this solely to send you the alerts you requested.
- Usage data — we may collect anonymized data about how pages are used (pages visited, search queries, clicks) to improve the service. This data is not linked to your identity.
- AI conversation history — messages you send to the HawkShift AI Concierge are processed to generate responses. These conversations are not stored permanently and are not linked to your identity.
How We Use Your Information
- To send price drop alerts you have subscribed to
- To improve the accuracy and relevance of AI recommendations
- To understand how the service is used and improve it
We do not sell your information. We do not share your email address with third parties for marketing purposes.
Third-Party Services
HawkShift Shop uses the following third-party services that may process data as part of normal operation:
- Groq — AI inference for the shopping concierge. Conversations are processed through Groq's API.
- Vercel — website hosting and infrastructure.
- Neon — database hosting for product and alert data.
- Google Analytics / Search Console — anonymized site traffic analysis.
Each of these services has their own privacy policy governing their data handling.
Cookies
HawkShift Shop does not currently use tracking cookies or advertising cookies. Basic session functionality may use browser storage (localStorage/sessionStorage) to maintain your session state. This data stays on your device.
Affiliate Links & Retailer Sites
When you click a product link and visit a retailer's website (Amazon, Walmart, etc.), that retailer's own privacy policy applies. HawkShift Shop has no control over and no visibility into what data those retailers collect.
Price Alert Emails
If you sign up for price alerts, your email address is stored securely in our database solely for the purpose of sending those alerts. You can remove your alerts at any time through the Alerts page. Removing all your alerts effectively unsubscribes you.
Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the data we store. Our database is hosted on Neon with encrypted connections. We do not store payment information — all transactions happen directly on the retailer's website.
Your Rights
You have the right to request deletion of any personal data we hold about you (primarily your email address if you've signed up for alerts). To request deletion, email us at hello@hawkshift.com.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be noted with an updated date below.
